The city of Ilsenburg is conveniently located at the B6n motorway, directly in the Harz National Park. It is starting point and destination for numerous hiking trails and provides excellent opportunities for mountain biking. One of the most popular hiking paths start in Ilsenburg: The "Heinrich Heine Path" is considered to be the most beautiful path leading to Mount Brocken. The highest peak of the Harz, Mount Brocken, can also be reached by the Harzer narrow-gauge railway. In the immediate vicinity you find the city of Goslar – a UNESCO World Heritage city – which is approximately 30 kilometres from the hotel. Also recommended is a stroll through the old town of Wernigerode which is only 10 kilometres away. Numerous show mines, caves and mining museums characterize the cultural diversity of the Harz region. The city of Wolfsburg with its "phaeono" adventure park, its "Auto City", the soccer stadium, the ice rink and public swimming bath is always worth a visit.
