The 3-star Waldhotel am Ilsestein was completely modernised and renovated during November and December 2008. The Waldhotel offers romantic, cosy rooms with modern amenities including free internet access. Relax in the Waldhotel am Ilsestein’s wellness area, which includes an indoor swimming pool (8m x 5m), two saunas, which are free of charge, as well as a solarium, infrared cabin and massages. Other facilities the hotel has to offer are a billiard and table tennis room, table football and skittles. Additionally, there are two play rooms for children, a reading room and a small library. In the morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet. In the evening, dine on regional specialities, including game, in the restaurant, with adjoining conservatory from which you have views of the surrounding forest and the Ilse stream. Right beside the Waldhotel, you will find the entrance to the national park Harz, from where you can reach the highest mountain of the Harz, the Brocken. Besides, you may make use of the well signposted hiking and cycling routes. On your way, you will come up against interesting attractions, such as the Ilsestein or the famous Ilse water falls. Within only a few minutes by car you reach the federal highway, the world cultural heritages Quedlinburg and Goslar, but also the charming town of Wernigerode or Halberstadt. Ilsenburg is not only a famous climatic spa, but also you will find many tourist attractions like the Roman monastery complex.
